When will Paramount Plus be available in the UK?

Paramount Plus will launch in the UK and Ireland on Wednesday (June 22). The news of its arrival was revealed on Tuesday (May 3), RadioTimes reports.

Raffaele Annecchino, president and CEO of international networks, studios and streaming at Paramount Global, said: “Paramount is known for its leading portfolio of premium entertainment brands and a robust content engine that fuels our rapidly expanding streaming service, Paramount+. This year will be monumental for our streaming strategy as we accelerate our global ambitions, rapidly expanding Paramount+ in Europe beginning with the UK, Italy, Germany, France and more by the end of this year and debut in Asia with South Korea in June, followed by India in 2023.

“With an already expansive global footprint and a strong, long-term market-by-market strategy, we are well-poised to continue our positive momentum.”

What shows will be on Paramount Plus?

Many of the best Paramount Plus shows (like The Good Fight or Star Trek: Picard) currently have deals in place with other UK providers like Channel 4 and Prime Video, but parent company Paramount says it will launch with 8,000 hours worth of films and TV shows. This includes Paramount originals as well as entertainment from channels including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and SHOWTIME.

All of the Star Trek franchise, drama series Yellowstone, a revival of Frasier and a Grease prequel series will be available to watch. Other titles include The Offer, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, The First Lady, Queen of the Universe and Jerry & Marge Go Large.

For kids a remake of Rugrats will be released. There will also be live-action reboots for Dora and The Fairly Odd Parents.

How much will it cost?

Paramount Plus will cost £6.99 per month or £69.90 per annum in the UK after a free seven-day trial. The service will be accessible on Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku and Samsung platforms and more. Sky Cinema subscribers, including Sky Q customers, will also be able to use the service at no extra cost.
