OnePlus 10T 5G tipped to launch soon: Specs, price and details we know so far

OnePlus has been aggressively pushing out devices in 2022, and it appears there’s “one more thing” left from the company this year. As per leaks, OnePlus is said to launch the OnePlus 10T after launching OnePlus 10 Pro in India in March. OnePlus fans will remember that the T-smartphone series was usually reserved for the end of the year, but the leak says its launch will debut globally in July, including in India.

It means we’ll have three OnePlus 10 series phones very soon – the OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10R, and the OnePlus 10T. But it appears that instead of carrying all flagship features, the new 10T will likely be the awkward middle sibling with a relatively more affordable price tag.

OnePlus 10T design and specifications

Ahead of the official announcement, the OnePlus 10T’s design renders have already appeared online and we can notice the same gas-stove rear camera module that we noticed on the OnePlus 10 Pro. The company may continue to introduce Hasselblad cameras on this version, similar to the 10 Pro models.

The renders also show that the OnePlus 10T looks more or less similar to its sibling, with minor tweaks. It will be interesting to see if the phone gets the iconic slider button that old OnePlus phones feature. It is essentially a neat way to shift between loud and silent audio modes. The image shows a black colour option, but the phone may get more colour models.

Coming to the display, we’ll likely see a 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with a centrally-located punch-hole at the top housing the 32MP selfie camera. The front camera may only support full-HD video recording, which, to be fair, is with most Android smartphones, but it needs an upgrade soon. Even the OnePlus 10 Pro gets a 32-megapixel front camera with only 1080p video recording capability. But there’s another leak that suggests the phone may get a 16-megapixel front camera, which we saw on the OnePlus 10R.

Now there’s some confusion over the processor as leaks suggest the presence of Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, while some indicate Dimensity 9000 SoC. OnePlus generally uses Qualcomm processors for its flagship, but the leak regarding Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC seems odd as the OnePlus 10T is said to be more affordable. If it goes with the ‘Plus’ chipset, it will be interesting to see if the phone will face any heating issues that previous models face.

Coming to the charging tech, we’ll have to see whether the 10T will get wireless charging. We’ll also have to see whether the phone will get an IP rating for dust and water resistance that is present on the OnePlus 10 Pro but unavailable on 10R. As per rumours, the phone will pack a bigger 4,800mAh battery and offer 150W fast charging tech support out of the box.

OnePlus 10T price

According to an IT Home report, the OnePlus 10T 5G will launch in China between CNY 3,000 and CNY 4,000 (roughly Rs 35,000 and Rs 47,000). In India, the phone could launch for under Rs 50,000.

To recall, the OnePlus 10R 5G has a starting price of Rs 38,999, whereas the OnePlus 10 Pro is available for Rs 66,999.
