MITCHELL — The Mitchell Board of Education will hold a special meeting next week in order to meet with the
South Dakota Board of Technical Education.
The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in room 138 at the Muth Electric Technology Center on the campus of Mitchell Technical College. The agenda for the meeting indicates the meeting will run until approximately 5:30 p.m.
Joe Graves, superintendent for the Mitchell School District, said the meeting will be an opportunity for the board to engage in discussion in a group setting. Mitchell Technical College, which is part of the Mitchell School District, is governed by both the South Dakota Board of Education and the Mitchell Board of Education.
“Basically, the South Dakota Board of Technical Education will be holding one of its meetings in Mitchell (at Mitchell Technical College), and this is an opportunity for the two boards which govern MTC to just touch base,” Graves said in an email.
The meeting features four agenda items, including the call to order, the approval of the agenda, the joint meeting with the board of technical education and the adjournment. The agenda specifically indicates that no action other than the approval of the agenda will take place at the meeting.
The meeting, which the Mitchell Republic plans to livestream, is open to the public.
